Doors of Perception
23" x 27"

The original photo transfer used in this quilt (shown in the inset in its original form) was 7-1/2" x 9". After fracturing nine copies of the image together with an 1/8" seam allowance, the center grew to about 15-1/2" x 19-1/4". The outer border was cut 3-1/4" wide and the corners were mitered. The use of solid black for the inner border and binding helped frame the photo and give the eye a chance to rest between the busy fracture and the fancy outer border fabric.
This quilt uses nine copies of a digital image transferred onto Printed Treasures printable fabric by Milliken. It was pieced and quilted by Brenda Esslinger using Warm and White cotton batting by the Warm Company™. The original photograph was shot by John DeLaughter.
