Year of the Cat – 28-1/2" x 28-1/2" Wall Quilt The simple lines of
Claire’s Cats are a perfect match for the many elegant Asian fabrics on
the market today. This kitty was sewn from one large piece of cream
fabric. The buttonhole stitching was created with two different colors
of grey floss. The darker shade was used on the ears, feet, and tail,
while a lighter shade of grey was chosen for the body. This gives the
cat the appearance of a Siamese while still using just one piece of
fabric for the appliqué. A pale blue fabric was appliquéd for his eye
and the pupil was sewn with embroidery using the satin stitch. ©2007 Darcy Ashton. |
