Moonlit Moths - 40-1/2" x 49-1/2" This is a scrappy twelve block version of the "Butterfly Dance" quilt, pictured on the back cover, with a simplified outer border. In this option, twelve moths were appliquéd using the fusible interfacing technique described on page 35 and then finished with the buttonhole stitch and three strands of dark red embroidery floss. The antennae were sewn with two strands of white embroidery floss and the outline stitch. Machine quilting was sewn by Brenda Esslinger using Soft and BlackT polyester batting, the moths were padded with Warm and NaturalT cotton batting by the Warm Company. ©2006 Darcy Ashton all rights reserved. |
